Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Minecraft Bukkit Server in a VirtualBox Appliance.
This is a complete VirtualBox Appliance for a CraftBukkit Minecraft server with a few plugins installed.
Simply download this appliance and do a File>Import Appliance in VirtualBox, (http://www.virtualbox.org).

The appliance is setup to run on a bridged network adapter so it will appear as an Ubuntu server on your LAN, acquiring an IP address from your router. To determine the IP address of the server from the VirtualBox console, simply login and type ifconfig <enter>, and note the IP Address of eth0.
Start by running ./run.sh from craftbukkit folder. The server will start in a screen session, so you can simply type ctrl-a and then d to disconnect and leave the server running. To go back to the screen session for the server from the command line, type: screen -r bukkitserver
You should run the server once to generate a new world and configuration files for the plugins and then stop the server and edit your config before playing on this server.
